43 Things...

You might notice a new addition to my blog along the right side (besides the Countdown to My Wedding).

It's a list called "43 Things". I know I don't have 43 things on my list, yet. But, I'm working on it. And, as soon as I start completing the items, I will post a list of everything I've done.

Lately I've been working on professional development things for myself... and since I'm working on the professional side, I figured the personal side could use some working too... thus my "43 Things" comes into play.

To start your own list to go www.43things.com

Enjoy! :-)

Life's Milestones

It's been awhile since I've posted, and there are a few things I'd like to share.

#1. My car is paid off!

It's the first time in my life that I've completely paid for something myself. It seems just like yesterday that I bought my 2002 red Pontiac Sunfire (with sunroof --- which I love, love, love...), and I can remember exactly what I did on my first outing with my new car. I received the title in the mail and it felt awesome! Now, I'm going to save the monthly car payment, and use it for a down payment on a new car in another year or so.

#2. I'll be turning 30 in less than 60 days...

I'm not so much worried about turning 30, as I am worried about where/how I'm going to spend my 30th birthday. I originally had Bob talked into a 4-5 day Walt Disney vacation. However, with the wedding this year, I decided that I'd rather use the vacation time for wedding-related stuff... or post-wedding relaxation. So, no Disney.

I desperately would love to spend the 3-day weekend in Colorado. (For those of you who know me... I need not say anything else.) But, Colorado is a bit far to travel for a 3-day weekend. Plus, we need to be back early on Sunday (see my #3 for that reason).

So.......... I'm trying to decide where to spend my 3-day birthday weekend. I've considered renting a secluded cabin in Hocking Hills with a jacuzzi tub; staying at a B&B in Letchworth in up-state New York; hitting the wineries in Niagara-on-the-lake and staying in a B&B; doing some early Christmas shopping at Bronner's (World's Largest Christmas store) and eating THE BEST chicken dinner EVER for my b-day dinner in Frankenmuth, Michigan........ but, I just haven't figured out "the perfect place".

I'm already spending the 3-day weekend with "the perfect guy" --- Bob..... so I guess it doesn't really matter where we go.

(I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any....)

Ok... #3.... I've saved the best for last...

For those that know me, this is going to be something total unlike me... but, I'm trying to live life to the fullest. :-)

I signed up for Scuba Diving Lessons!.............................................

SERIOUSLY!!! I honestly did! Bob received his scuba diving certification during high school, and has gone diving in the Caribbean, as well as Lake Erie. As we are searching for a honeymoon destination, he suggested going somewhere that has good scuba diving. Knowing that the one-hour quickie course they'd give me prior to scuba diving on our honeymoon wouldn't cut it for me, he suggested that I get certified here. The advantage to that is that with certification we can dive in Lake Erie during the summer.

So, we went last night to the local Dive Shop (yes, there is one in Strongsville --- who would have knew), and I put my deposit down for the class.

Crazy, huh????

I have to attend four classes (two hours each) and spend two Sundays (five hours each day) at the pool at the rec center. Then, this summer, I'll complete my two-days of open water dives in some quarries in Toledo.

I'm excited! This is totally unexplored territory for me (no pun intended). I'm going to totally surprise myself with this.

So, my first pool dive at the rec center is the day after my birthday at 3pm, so that's why we can't travel too far for my 3-day 30th b-day weekend!

That's all the news I have for now.

Aunt Stephanie

Here's the most recent photo of my niece, Sophia, and I!

I bought her the Winnie the Pooh sweater that she's wearing long before she was born. I thought it was fairly gender neutral... so, whether S&S had a boy or girl, the baby could wear the sweater. This is the first time I've seen it on her and she looks so cute!!!!!

Mom, dad, and grandma came to visit today. Mom, Sarah and I went wedding-stuff shopping ---- of course!!! We hit Pat Catan's, and picked out lots of great things for the wedding --- the most important being centerpieces! :-) Then we went to the mall. Mom wanted to look at dresses for the wedding. Would you believe she found one!??!?!?! It was the first one she tried on... although, she only tried two on today. It looks great on her!!! Now, she just has to find shoes.

The bridesmaid dress shopping last weekend went VERY well!! Everyone has dresses. YEAH!! :-) They're "cranberry" --- a deeper red. I love them, and I think all the girls love them too... which is very important to me!

We're getting more wedding stuff accomplished too. I think we've narrowed down the limo options. And, we're hoping to have a videographer and DJ/Band in the next week.

There's still lots to do, but slowly we'll get everything done! :-)
