New cellphone

So, I went to Verizon tonight to check out new cellphones. I'm on a "New Every Two" cellphone plan and it's approaching the time to renew. I walk into the store, and see there's a huge line. I just want to look at phones, so I head over to the phones and the lady behind the counter yells out as she's helping a customer, "Can I help you?". I tell her I'm just checking out phones. She says great and goes back to her customer.

I begin to look at phones and "Mr. Smooth-talking Sales Rep" walks over to me and asks if he can help me. I explain my situation and he says, when I'm ready to get a phone I should get in line so that someone can help me. (I'm not sure why HE couldn't help me since he was just wandering around the store.)

So, I continue to look at phones and decide to get in line to make sure that I'm eligible for my $100 "New Every Two" discount. So, I get in line behind two people.

The lady who yelled at me from behind the counter when I first came in, goes to another counter and helps the first guy in line.

Another guy comes in the store and gets in line behind me. "Mr. Smooth-talking Sales Rep" decides to help the guy... not sure why he didn't start with the front of the line??? And, soon the lady in front of me is being helped by the "lady who yelled from behind the counter".

After waiting for an insanely long amount of time (I only waited because it had begun to rain cats & dogs outside and it was better than going outside and getting soaked)......... "Mr. Smooth-talking Sales Rep" decides NOW he can help me!!

So, we look up my account... he says I get my $100 "New Every Two" Discount and I proceed to tell him that I like my current phone, but just want to look at my options. He says my current phone is a great phone (which I already knew). So, we look at phones... and, nothing really jumps out at me. I'd really only be upgrading to get Bluetooth or an MP3 phone (which doesn't matter since I already have an iPod). So, he said that I didn't need to upgrade. I could carry my $100 credit and use it whenever a phone comes out that I like.

BUT... there was an improvement in my coverage plan, and it's a free upgrade with additional minutes and NO ROAMING anywhere. So, I decided to go with that.

He passed me off onto another service rep... who was extremely nice, Tom, and said that he recognized me from being in there before.

So.......... long story short....... I spent 30 minutes in Verizon and came out with 50 additional minutes per month and no roaming!

Was this not THE MOST BORING blog you have ever read!??!?!?!?!!??!?!?

Beautiful Teeth!

(WOW! Two enteries in one week... haven't done this in awhile!!)

So, I went to the dentist today for my teeth grinding problem.

And, I must say that it wasn't as bad as I had imagined it would be.

For those of you who know me well, I do NOT do well with medical things (shots, blood, surgery, etc), so I, of course, was anticipating the worst today. I was thinking he'd get the big, scary needle to numb me up. But, when I arrived he said that he thought it would be less painful to grind down the teeth without putting me through the pain of the needle. I thought, "What are you smoking?? You're going to GRIND my teeth and this isn't going to hurt?!?!?!"

But, it really didn't... just some minor discomfort. Apparently my top teeth were hitting against my bottom teeth and were causing fractures (aka chips) to my teeth... making some of them jagged. One of my front teeth was even longer than the other. The shorter one was "abormally short" (as the dentist put it) because it's been wearing down for years. YIKES!!!

Anyway... so he did some grinding on the front top and bottom teeth and then he smoothed everything out. Then he sat me up and handed me a mirror... and WOW! My teeth are nice and smooth and straight on the top and bottom. It's really a noticeable difference... to me, at least. I wish I had taken before and after pictures! (LOL!! Only me would be wishing I had before and after photos...)

So, that was the excitement of my day!

It's been awhile...

Well, it's been quite some time since I've blogged. Lots going on. As usual... work is keep me extremely busy and quite stressed. I visit my dentist last week, and found out that I grind my teeth --- mostly because of stress! I've chipped a couple teeth because of it, and one of them is even LOOSE!!! So, on Wednesday, I'm going to have my teeth smoothed down and fitted for a night guard. Fun, fun!

Hmmmm... what else is going on????

On a happier note... good news today. My cousin, Anthony, and his wife, Betsy, welcomed the newest addition to their family... a baby girl named Molly! Molly joins big-brother, Alexander, who is two-years-old!

I celebrated my birthday almost a month ago (May 19). I took the day off! :-) And, I went to Y-Town the night before to hang out with my parents and grandma. I spent most of my birthday with them and then headed back to Cleveland to go to the boat. Bob and I went to Outback Steakhouse for my birthday. Outback is catering our golf outing this year, so I wanted to give them some business as a thank you.

My family and Bob's parents came over on Sunday, May 21 to celebrate my birthday. Bob decorated the living room with balloons! :-) We also decorated Nix. LOL! :-)

I successfully directed my first cruise for the Berea Power Squadron. I was "talked into" being the Cruise Director for our group. We cruised to Vermilion the first weekend of June. Despite a rocky start and end with weather... everything else was great! We had 8 boats... with 18 members. A great time was had by all!

The next cruise that I'm responsible for is to Leamington, Ontario the final weekend of July... that would be the day after the golf outing and two days after Party in the Park. I'm going to NEED a vacation by then! I might not return from Leamington. LOL!!!

I can't really think of anything else that's been going on.

I've definitely been trying to spend more quality time with my friends and family. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day anymore. I'm enjoying my weekends on the boat very much this summer. I've read 3 books in the past 4 weeks. :-) (Must read of the summer... James Patterson's "Sam's Letters to Jennifer"! LOVED IT!)

And speaking of the boat... how could I forget!?!?!? This past weekend was Bike Week in Sandusky. WOW!!! You should see the "characters" at the festival in downtown Sandusky on Saturday. Ladies with snakes, dogs big enough to ride, fire jugglers, teenage boys with babies, black clothes, leather pants, and tons and tons and tons of motorcycles!!

There was even a bride and groom walking through the crowd. She was barefoot. They were both carrying beers. And, she stopped to have her photo taken on a motorcycle. (I took photos of this strange sight! When I download them, I'll post them.)

Well... tis growing late and I'm tired, tired, tired. Another long tired day at work... and an extremely long commute home. It took almost 30-minutes to go about 5 miles. Ugh!!

Goodnight all. I hope to blog more often. :-)
