Firecrackers & Fish!

Another 4th of July is over...

Bob and I spent a great weekend at the boat. We headed up to the lake Friday after work and had a late dinner at Dock's Beach House on the water. The wind was unbelievable! We watched as the waves tossed around the small boats in the water. Saturday we didn't do much of anything. We cooked steaks with Shawn and Jennie and then went to Toft's for ice cream. YUMMY!!! (Bugaboo Fudge and Pablo Pistachio!!)

Sunday, we anchored out on the north side of Kelley's Island from 11am until 6pm. I actually swam in Lake Erie with the fishes!! Can you believe it!?!?!? It was my first time swimming in the lake. I was worried the fish would try to bite me. But, I didn't feel any nibbles! :-) The water was fairly clear. It was 74 degrees... which doesn't sound very warm, but it was nice once you took the plunge!

I got to throw the anchor too. Wahoo! :-) I think I did a good job. I wore my "seasickness wristbands"... and have ugly tan marks to show for it. BUT, at least I didn't get sick! :-) The "Anchor Out" in Sandusky Bay in September with the Berea Power Squadron is going to be "interesting". We'll be "swinging on the hook" all weekend. I hope the wristbands work well that weekend too!

Sunday was definitely a fun day. We spent the afternoon hanging out with Shawn and Jennie. It was much, much fun. Then we went to Mel's Crows Nest for dinner. Yummy!!! Betty Salad! (with bacon bits, bean sprouts and special sweet-n-sour dressing). Looking forward to the next time we anchor out! Hopefully it's sooner, rather than later.

Yesterday was Bob's parents' annual 4th of July party. We left the boat early and spent the day there. Stephen & Sarah joined us too. Much fun!!

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the 4th of July weekend! :-( Otherwise, I would have posted some here. :-( It's been a year since Bob and I took our weeklong boat trip to Lexington, MI and Bayfield, Ontario. Wow! Time flies! (Steph & Bob's 2004 Boat Trip!)

Off to bed now. Very tired.
