LOTS of water!!
Imagine my surprise when I heard Bob calling to me from downstairs at 5:30 AM, asking me to bring him his glasses. (My first thought was... Oh no, he's sleep walking again!)
And then he said... "We have a problem down here. You don't want to come downstairs!"
YIKES!!!!!!!
I could only imagine the worst. I cautiously went down the steps. As I stepped off the last step, my foot landed in a puddle of water on the carpet.
ICK!!!!!!!!
The expansion tank on the hot water tank (whatever that is!) had sprung a leak and all the carpet in the hallway was SOAKED!! Water was gushing out of it when you stepped on it.
So, I spent the next hour and a half running the shop-vac while Bob went to Home Depot when they opened at 6am to buy another expansion tank. (THANK GOODNESS he's handy around the house! Gotta love him!!)
By 7am, the problem was fixed, so we decided to "celebrate" and went to Jennifer's restaurant for breakfast (our favorite breakfast place).
Then, of course, it was off to work for another exciting day at the office. Today I printed 1365 envelopes to go with the 1365 letters that I printed yesterday and then I had the pleasure of folding and stuffing the letters into the envelopes.
And that folks is why they pay me the big bucks! :-) LOL!!
I'm so looking forward to this 3-day weekend. We'll be heading up to Port Clinton after work on Friday and spending 3 nights on the boat. I haven't been there in two weeks, so I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend. I hope the weather is nice on Saturday. We're going to take the boat to the north-side of Kelly's Island and "anchor out" with Jennie and Shawn (who just purchased a boat, so I'm excited to see it in the water)!
And... this is where my Blog site's name comes into play -- Anchor Girl. You see... I am "in charge" of the anchor. I throw the anchor, hold onto the rope for dear life while Bob positions the boat, then I cleat off the anchor and we're all set! (MUCH MUCH easier said than done!) Of course, when we decide to leave, I have to haul the anchor up... which isn't exactly easy.
So, I've been given the endearing nickname of "Anchor Wench"! :-) (My boyfriend loves me, right???)
But seriously... I accept the name and the responsibility proudly! :-) Having never boated before I met Bob in January 2004, I've definitely come a long way. He'll make a boater out of me yet... I'm happy to say! :-)
I'm definitely looking forward to this weekend. It's going to be great! On Monday, we'll be heading to Bob's parents house for their annual 4th of July party and my parents, grandma and S&S (Stephen & Sarah - for those who don't know) will be joining us!
I wish all of you a safe, happy and fun-filled holiday weekend! :-)
